Netter Platform
Full-stack web and mobile platform built from scratch — Angular frontend, React Native app, and a Node.js microservice backend communicating over gRPC.
What it is
Netter is a networking and events platform. Over four years I built most of the core product — the web app, the mobile app, and the distributed backend that powers both.
How it works
Frontend — Angular Single-page app with feature modules, lazy loading, and RxJS-driven state. Shared UI library consumed by both the main app and the touch-device kiosk.
Mobile — React Native Cross-platform iOS/Android app sharing business logic with the web layer via a thin service abstraction.
Backend — Node.js microservices Services communicate synchronously over gRPC for low-latency queries and asynchronously via RabbitMQ for event-driven workflows. Redis handles session caching and pub/sub fanout.
Infrastructure Docker containers orchestrated with Docker Swarm. Network topology configured via Faucet (OpenFlow SDN controller) for fine-grained traffic isolation between services.
Touch-device kiosk A dedicated Qt application integrated with Sway (Wayland compositor) runs on embedded hardware at event venues, consuming the same API surface as the mobile app.
What I’d do next
- Migrate Docker Swarm to Kubernetes for better autoscaling primitives
- Replace the bespoke SDN setup with a managed service mesh (Istio / Linkerd)
- Extract the kiosk UI to a PWA to eliminate the native Qt dependency
